Nova Biomedical is hiring a Financial Analyst (Temporary - Up to 90 days) in our Waltham, MA facility. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Corporate FP&A Team of the largest privately held in vitro diagnostics manufacturer in the USA. This role will play an integral role in the planning and financial reporting processes at Nova and offer broad exposure to all functions. We are looking for a detail oriented, self-motivated and analytical problem-solver who is capable of distilling large amounts of data into actionable insights on-site in our Waltham, MA office. This individual will be tasked with understanding and analyzing financial data, have the know-how to drill into actual results and be able to explain any deviations from plan, and assist in developing forecasts for Nova’s Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Quarterly Operating Review (QOR). The main responsibility of this role is Operating Expenses (Op Ex) focused.
Essential Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
- Analyze, forecast, and report on operational metrics while highlighting key trends and areas of risk and opportunity
- Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports utilizing Microsoft Power BI and Adaptive Insights
- Work with corporate functional leaders to develop new insights and analysis utilizing Microsoft Power BI.
- Lead quarterly reviews with international subsidiaries and territory sales managers and provide qualitative summary of results
- Collaborate with international subsidiaries to produce monthly qualitative analysis
- Increase productivity by developing automated reporting / forecasting tools
- Support development of Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Quarterly Operating Review (QOR) including preparing presentations for business leaders
- Generate profitability analysis for tenders and significant sales opportunities
- Provide support for the monthly close
- Ad hoc reporting as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
- 1-3 years of experience in relevant roles
- Exceptional skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, financial modeling, and data analytics
- Ability to synthesize and evaluate complex data
- Strong communication skills both orally and in writing with the ability to summarize analyses thoughtfully
- Familiarity with SAP, Power BI, and Adaptive Insights a plus.
- Detail oriented with the ability to learn quickly and solve problems
- Strong organizational skills and knowledge to manage tasks in light of competing priorities
