The Financial Analyst/Senior Programmer develops, implements, and maintains programs and processes to assure effective and efficient utilization of data related to the operations of the medical, optical and surgical operations of the company. Support the general accounting department, patient accounting department as well as administrative and clinic management in the coordination of information for the analysis of operations including but not limited to all financial statements and ancillary management reports. Perform financial and operational analyses as requested.
Remote work possible but must live in the Albuquerque metro area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrate proficiency in using Microsoft Office 2016 & 2010 with emphasis on Microsoft Access, Excel using pivot tables and an understanding of ODBC connectivity.
- Application development using Microsoft Access utilizing VBA coding, relational database structure, queries, forms, reporting, and macros with ODBC connectivity to SQL data warehouse.
- Advanced proficiency in developing Crystal Reports version 2011 for in-house reporting
- Advanced proficiency in developing SQL (Structure Query Language) 2016 for extracting data from NextGen and Advantx healthcare systems.
- Provide expertise for writing complex programs for statistical and financial reports for all lines of business, Medical, Optical, & Surgery Centers.
- Maintain transaction databases for all lines of business for historical and ad hoc analysis of trends and demographics in support of the budgeting process and various business decisions.
- Create and maintain journal entry interfaces between the practice management systems (NextGen and Advantx) and the general ledger system (Sage) for all lines of business.
- Develop, maintain and distribute the library of reports for physicians, directors, and administrators.
- Research, develop and analyze reports for senior management pertaining to areas such as accounting, practice management, coding, contracting, and claims and communicate data.
- Analyze and forecast positive and/or negative changes in reimbursement due to changes in Medicare reimbursement methods, including RBRVS
- Develop and maintain programs to process requests for refunds from the PA department
- Excellent analytical and reconciliation skills
- Manage projects of complex scope
- Manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines and expectations
- Identify opportunities for self-development and understands expectations of learning competencies related to the job
- Maintains current knowledge of both existing and emerging technologies used in all lines of business
- Hold and retain a working knowledge of financial accounting
- Hold and retain a working knowledge of the Medicare and internal RBRVS system of reimbursement along with ICD-10 and CPT codes and modifiers
- The annual completion of assigned Learning Management System (LMS) courses is mandatory. Any individual who has not completed their assigned training prior to November 30th of each year may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field plus 10 years with increasing technology responsibility or any related education from a university or related experience in this occupation totaling 15 years may substitute for the required degree.
