Summary:
As a Financial Analyst at our company, you will play a vital role in collaborating closely with senior management and our operations team to maintain financial planning and analysis for our organization. You will be responsible for preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial reports/analysis, serving as a trusted liaison to assist leadership with their financial needs. Additionally, you will lead the implementation of new reporting technologies and processes and provide ongoing support to other finance-related functions.
Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support to senior management.
- Generate monthly reports containing key metrics, financial results, and variance reporting.
- Stay informed of new regulations or policies affecting financial activities.
- Develop decision-making models and undertake ad hoc financial analysis projects and report preparation as required.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies in all financial reporting activities.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and disclosures for quarterly and annual reporting cycles.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the finance function, enhancing efficiency.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for new reporting packages.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong planning and organizational skills to effectively prioritize work.
- Excellent communication skills for internal and external interactions.
- Proficiency in compiling and interpreting large amounts of data to create polished presentation materials.
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel at an advanced level.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance OR equivalent years of experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Financial Analyst or similar role, demonstrating a solid understanding of financial principles and concepts.
- Ability to pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master of Business Administration degree (MBA).
- Experience working in a government contracting environment is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with VENA Solutions software.
- SQL experience is a plus.
