About the Job
The Financial Analyst Junior is primary responsible for preparing analytical financial reports to management, analyzing the financial position of the bank and recommending strategic actions by collecting, mining, monitoring, and studying data.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Performs data mining, querying, turning data into information, and recommending business actions, etc.
Formulates analysis to improve information available to Management.
Maintains and improves existing data analysis tools and reports.
Develops internal reports to present the data in most easily consumable way and surface the key insights from the data.
Reports on pricing / volumes (interest rates, indexes, product averages, outliers, etc.).
Evaluates products and lines of business based on financial information (profitability, concentration, etc.)
Makes recommendations for specific action and then measure the result of said action.
Learns how to use department tools and participates in the implementation of them (Tagetik, OneSumX, Prologue, Qlik, etc.).
Participates in the update of policies and procedures.
Monitors variances, and follows up on discrepancies.
- 2 years experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to learn to use Business Intelligence (BI) tools and technologies to collect, evaluate and analyze management information.
Excellent analytical skills, independent judgment and discretion required.
Expert in Excel (pivot tables, Vlookup, ifs & sumifs), Word and PowerPoint.
Experience with Wolters Kluwer ERP systems (CCH Tagetik & OneSumX) desired, but not required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting/Economics required.
