Summary:
We are currently seeking a talented Financial Analyst II to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive administrative, technical, and professional support services to the DGHP Office of the Director (DGHP OD) staff and its associated branches. These branches include the Global Public Health Systems Branch (GPHSB), the Global Surveillance, Laboratory, and Data Systems Branch (GSLDSB), the Global Workforce Development Branch (GWDB), the Global Program and Extramural Management Branch (GEM), and the Global Public Health Emergency Preparedness Branch (GPHEPB).
The CDC Global Health Center (GHC)/Division of Global Health Protection (DGHP)/Office of the Director (OD) and its branches strive to enhance public health capacity by bolstering preparedness, prevention, and response to infectious diseases and other health emergencies. Your contributions will be instrumental in supporting these vital objectives through program analytic support, fiscal management, and administrative coordination.
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive program analytic support in areas such as public health informatics, procurement, and fiscal management.
Gather, analyze, and evaluate pertinent information to support program or project managers and stakeholders.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop, monitor, and track annual spend plans and obligations within established timelines.
Manage and maintain databases to facilitate informed decision-making and tracking of financial information.
Prepare and disseminate quarterly analyses and reports to relevant stakeholders.
Proactively identify and propose solutions to improve data management tools and processes.
Provide administrative support including office supply coordination, file maintenance, and meeting logistics.
Assist in the development and maintenance of fiscal and administrative tracking tools.
Research and prepare responses to budget-related inquiries from key stakeholders.
Provide guidance and recommendations on procurement processes and documentation.
Coordinate with relevant offices to reconcile and update procurement systems.
Assist in triaging support requests from domestic and international programs.
Maintain and analyze resource projections and spending plans.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and procedural requirements in financial documentation.
Provide input for budget development and monitor spending against established plans.
Facilitate meetings and provide guidance on appropriate regulations and procedures.
Serve as a point of contact for assigned programs and offices.
Qualifications:
Experience with relevant financial management systems.
Proficiency in using automated management information systems.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent critical thinking and attention to detail.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Strong organizational skills and professional demeanor.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field OR equivalent experience.
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.
Must be able to obtain a Government Public Trust clearance.
