Position Summary:
In this role, the Financial Analyst will assist the Director of Financial Operations in recording, analyzing and reporting financial information that is accurate, timely and relevant for senior management to utilize in identifying and managing the organization's strategic objectives. This position will also directly support the Director of Financial Operations, the VP of Finance and Corporate Controller and the Manager of Financial Reporting and Analysis by aiding in day to day accounts payable operations, participating in the General Ledger reconciliation process. This position is responsible for managing, coordinating, and implementation initiatives and processes to improve the overall integrity of the reconciliation processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience and knowledge working with healthcare financial data, data reconciliation, data analysis, excellent communication, presentation, and visualization. In addition, maintain strict confidence of all HealthCare Partners member, provider and health plan information to which the Financial Analyst has access.

Essential Position Functions/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for day-to-day functions, procedures and processes for accounts payable.
- Responsible for performing the day-to-day general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and analysis for assigned functional areas.
- Responsible for the Expense reconciliation process and the identification of over/under payments.
- Routine communication with Supervisor relating to financial close, issues and deliverables.
- Assist with the development of monthly financial statements to be distributed to Executive Management.
- Ability to consistently maintain productivity and quality expectations as defined by management.
- Perform account reconciliations/analysis, accrual calculations and other accounting schedules as needed.
- Prepare and maintain weekly financial reports for California office and HCP Executive Team.
- Perform various audits including but not limited to claims, contracts, etc.
- Analyze expenditures to identify cost savings opportunities.
- Prepare and process journal entries related to all business units.
- Assist with audit functions and deliverables as necessary.
- Responsible as an user to various HCP Financial Reporting programs.
- Assist with subsidiary ledger reconciliation as needed.
- Perform Ad Hoc analysis, special projects, accounting and administrative duties as needed.
- Work collaboratively with key members of HCP’s Finance, Executive, and operations teams to understand these customers’ informational needs as well as on approaches to best applying the information provided
- Maintain communication with direct manager and/or Team Leads and promptly follow-up with other departments as needed especially when seeking further information on vendor and expense resolution
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information under HIPPA guidelines and policies and maintain PHI integrity
- Preforming regular interpretation of information based on analysis, identification of over and underpayment trends, and development of recommendations based on analysis
- Leading and participating in moderately complex projects related to General ledger issues
- Maintaining relationships with Healthplans and escalating payment issues
- Conducting special projects and special studies to facilitate revenue management as required for system conversions, new facilities/acquisitions, new departments, new service lines, changes in regulations, legal reviews, etc.
- Effectively participate during team meeting, healthplans discussions/meetings and conference calls/meetings as needed

Training/Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting, required.
- Knowledge of Healthcare operations, preferred.
- Proficient with Windows software, including but not limited to Microsoft Windows, Access, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- ERP Financial Reporting Application Experience, required.
- Module knowledge in Sage 100, Sage intacct, Concur, Concord, Preferred
Experience:
- 3-5 years’ experience in Finance and or Operations.
