Summary:
The Financial Analyst has oversight of the financial health of the Rush University Scholarship Portfolio for all three colleges and Academic Support. The Financial Analyst will routinely meet with collegiate leadership to provide financial guidance on available funds in the portfolio and meet routinely with admissions and financial aid offers on disbursement of funds. The Financial Analyst collaborates staff within the colleges to ensure accurate, complete, and consistent reporting of all scholarship financials to the CFBO, Deans, Provost, President of Rush University. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
+ Maintains a detailed understanding of all scholarship endowments, donor gifts, grants, and internal sources (employee benefits and internal scholarship funding sources).
+ Reviews all relevant financials, projections, and budgets for the above funds with the CFBO, Directors of Finance in each college, and Financial Aid on a monthly basis.
+ Generates detailed internal budgets per program for scholarship disbursements and reconciles with Financial Aid to ensure accuracy.
+ Reviews all initial and amended budgets submitted by the colleges when new funding becomes available.
+ Reviews an application for grant funding for scholarship.
+ Works closely with Principal Investigators to ensure funding for all PhD students in laboratories.
+ Works closely with Philanthropy to identify funds for scholarships as they come available.
+ Communicates effectively and serves as a subject matter expert on scholarship financial management.
+ Maintains a database of all budgets and provides status reports as required.
+ Acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
Required Job Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree.
+ Three years of experience in higher education financial analysis/accounting function.
+ Experience in clinical research budgeting and negotiations for industry sponsored research.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills.
+ Demonstrated resourcefulness and attention to detail.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Experience with scholarship financials, disbursement, student financial aid.
