Job Overview
Hemmings is the world’s largest collector car marketplace and community. The Hemmings Financial Analyst role will work directly with top company executives to develop financial forecasts, help lead the annual budgeting process, analyze internal business and industry wide trends, and provide operating and financial variance analyses to drive strategic business decisions. The Senior Financial Analyst will be key in developing and planning business development initiatives, measuring results, and understanding the cost implications of strategic initiatives.
The Hemmings Financial Analyst role leads functions related to financial performance analysis, budget planning, capital planning, financial trends and variance, business development and project resourcing.
Strategically, Hemmings Financial Analyst provides management with financial analyses that clearly identify areas of opportunities, measures current and future financial performance and explains variances.
Job Responsibilities
- Support/Lead yearly operational budgeting process and quarterly re-forecasting processes.
- Support/lead stakeholder discussions and provide transparency into business line financials.
- Lead/Manage development of fiscal P&L projections for new business development opportunities.
- Manage capitalization/operation expense reporting for senior stakeholders.
- Provide analysis to leadership to help articulate business performance and trends internally and industry wide.
- Identify risks and opportunities for financial performance, based on variance analysis.
- Utilizes various financial and business intelligence systems to mine operational and financial data.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, data science or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in financial planning & analysis, analyzing financial results/statements and developing budgets and forecasts.
- Fundamental understanding of business operations, connecting financials to operational drivers.
- Strong analytical skills, decision-making ability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively communicate results verbally and through financial analyses and other documents to all organizational levels.
- Ability to work independently, cross-functionally and to self-motivate.
- Ability to defend and articulate concepts effectively.
- Efficiency with Workday and Power BI.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to synthesize business intelligence, strategic directives & analytics platform data in decision making
- Must be communicative, innovative, curious & collaborative
