Position Summary:
The Finance Department at the company is in search of a detail-oriented Financial Analyst who thrives in a collaborative environment. Reporting to the Manager of Capital Planning, this role will involve performing daily and monthly financial tasks related to capital planning and accounting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, accuracy, and strong analytical skills.
Essential Responsibilities / Duties:
Capital Planning:
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality of financial information.
- Assist in the annual capital budgeting and planning process.
- Monitor and review capital budgets, providing updates to management on progress and changes.
- Review capital requisitions for accuracy and policy compliance.
- Participate in the assessment and review of capital project requests.
- Collaborate with various departments to evaluate strategic initiatives for capital purchases.
- Prepare financial content for presentations to the Board of Trustees and Finance Committee.
- Maintain and update policies and procedures related to capital processing.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and assist with project-related inquiries.
Accounting:
- Manage the monthly close of the Asset Management module.
- Prepare accruals and journal entries related to property, plant, and equipment.
- Reconcile property, plant, and equipment accounts.
- Communicate with departments to track the status of capital projects.
- Prepare financial statement data and support for audits.
- Assist in documenting and maintaining policies and procedures related to accounting for property, plant, and equipment.
- Collaborate with other departments in the budgeting and forecasting of depreciation expenses.
Other Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all RESPECT behavioral standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Experience:
- 1-2 years of professional experience in financial analysis or accounting (internship experience included). Experience may be waived for candidates with a Master's degree.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to learn and utilize Infor, Strata, and other application systems.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to problem-solve and work independently.
- Dedicated work ethic with a high level of integrity.
