Position Summary:1-2 years In related area and/or equivalent experience/training (Required) And Demonstrated working knowledge of federal and institutional methodology. Knowledge of the Quality Assurance Program, the QA task cycle and the individual components that make up each cycle. (Required) Ability to read and interpret complex federal, state and university regulations and policies relating to financial aid. Working knowledge of all financial aid related websites. Ability to review and evaluate student financial aid files accurately. (Required) Knowledge of the Financial Aid Management (FAM) system, Student Records System (SRS), Report Distribution System (RDS), FAM Query Data Base, and the Billing and Receivable System (BAR), Query Data Base (QBD), Cognos Data Warehouse (CDW), and Imaging Software. (Required) Skill in performing accurately with heavy workload requirements and the ability to use effective time management skills in order to prioritize tasks to accomplish goals with established time frames. (Required) Ability to understand and interpret complex IRS tax forms. Ability to work effectively both in groups and independently. Skill in effectively communicating orally and in written form using concise logical and grammatically correct statements. (Required) Ability to understand and exercise "professional judgment" when reviewing student financial aid files. Skill in resolving complex student financial aid related issues. (Required) Ability to work effectively and accurately with frequent interruptions and/or distractions. Ability to develop training materials and present effective training workshops to other staff members. (Required) Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, faculty, and peers. (Required) Ability to effectively use a personal computer for desktop applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publishing, SAWEB, National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS), CPS Online, and Common Origination Disbursement (COD) (Required) Graduation from college with a major in education, public administration, psychology, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Reporting to the Manager of Compliance and Processing in Financial Aid and Scholarships, the Compliance and Quality Assurance Officer assists with ensuring financial aid delivery complies with all federal, state and institutional regulations. The incumbent provides support to the campus Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) program, the Return to Title IV program, the implementation of the annual student expenses budgets, as well as providing processing and technical support and analysis and serves as the coordinator of the Quality Assurance Program.
