Financial Administrator
Our client, a highly acclaimed university in the Cambridge, MA area, is looking for a Financial Administrator join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone who has pre- and post-awards experience and has exposure to sponsored research administration.
This position is a direct hire, permanent opening operating on a hybrid schedule. Applicants must be able to work onsite in Cambridge, MA 3 days per week to be eligible for this position.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee financial activities, resources, and special programs, primarily related to faculty-controlled funds
- Serve as a resource for faculty, researchers, and other staff on matters pertaining to sponsored research administration
- Manage a complex portfolio of faculty-controlled funds from initial proposal development, submission, renewal/extension, through closeout
- Prepare and submit research proposals and pre- and post-doctoral fellowship applications, review solicitations and determine required components
- Account set-up and extension
- Handle sponsor billing agreements and invoice payments
- Monitor financial performance to ensure compliance with research administration policies, sponsor policies
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in financial management, preferably in an academic environment
- Must have at least 2-3 years of experience in pre-award and 2-years of experience in post award research administration/sponsored programs
- Must have experience with NIH
- Must have some experience with government policies or at least an understanding of them (example: Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Cost Accounting, Standards, Office of Management and Budget circulars, and sponsored guidelines
- Must be outgoing, personable, friendly, and team-oriented
- Able to maintain time management and productivity working independently and in collaboration with others
