Position Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Budgeting, Planning and Analysis, the successful candidate will maintain the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Financial Reporting on a monthly basis. The ideal candidate will lead the development and maintenance of revenue and expense of all Health Plans, as well as accruals for Administrative Expenses for Healthcare Partners. This position is responsible recording, analyzing and reporting financial data that is accurate, timely and relevant for senior management to utilize in identifying and managing their strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will have experience with healthcare financial data, data reconciliation, data analysis and visualization. In addition, the candidate should maintain and adhere to strict confidentiality of all HealthCare Partners members, providers and Health plan information to which the Accountant of Financial Reporting has access.

Essential Position Functions/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for performing the day-to-day general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and analysis for assigned functional areas, including expense and revenue accrual maintenance.
- Responsible for maintenance of Administrative Expense accrual files including payroll, benefits and accounts payable.
- Assist with the completion of GAAP monthly statements in excel and Sage Intacct.
- Routine communication with Supervisor relating to financial close, issues and deliverables.
- Maintain the development of core financial statements to be distributed to Executive Management monthly.
- Research and prepare Actual vs Budget variance analysis and explanations.
- Contribute to the narrative explanations provided in the monthly management reports.
- Ability to consistently maintain productivity and quality expectations as defined by management.
- Execute ad hoc analytical requests quickly and accurately.
- Perform Balance sheet account reconciliations, account analysis, accrual calculations and other related accounting documents/schedules.
- Utilizing analytics tools, identifies areas of opportunity to reduce outstanding accounts receivable, surface workflow challenges, and provide recommendations to management
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information under HIPPA guidelines and policies and maintain PHI integrity
- Perform various audits including but not limited to claims, contracts, etc.
- Search for efficiencies and synergies relating to analysis thru out the company.
- Prepare and process journal entries related to all business units.
- Assist with audit functions and deliverables as necessary with external Auditors.
- Assist with subsidiary ledger reconciliation as needed.
- Assist with preparing monthly data for Cash Flow statements
- Perform Ad Hoc analysis, special projects, accounting and administrative duties as needed.
- Ability to consistently maintain productivity and quality expectations as defined by management.
- Effectively participate during team meeting, health plans discussions/meetings and conference calls/meetings as needed

Training/Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.
- Knowledge of Healthcare operations is a plus.
- Proficient with Windows software, including but not limited to Microsoft Windows, Access, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- ERP Financial Reporting Application Experience, such as Sage Intacct, a must
