Position Overview: NDSM is a dynamic and growing school looking for a Finance Manager. It is a crucial role that works closely with the Vice President of Finance. As part of the Finance Team, you will focus on data and insights & reporting to support leaders with planning and decision making.
An ideal candidate will have knowledge of financial accounting principles, great attention to detail, drive for process improvement and problem solving, and a collaborative mindset. We are looking for a motivated candidate, interested in growing in their career and building partnerships within the NDSM school community, Business Office and Board Committee Members.
Reporting Relationship: Reports to Assistant Vice President of Finance
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the tracking and recording of all related accounts receivable.
- Assist in the timely completion of all audits.
- Maintain the Foundation's financial records.
- Partner with the Assistant VP of Finance in monitoring financial activities.
- Aid the Assistant VP of Finance and the Accounts Payable Specialist in executing timely monthly closing of general ledger including:
- bank reconciliations
- monthly journal entries
- Deposit checks and cash.
- Backfill Accounts Payable Specialist when out on potential extended leaves such as PTO.
- Create efficiencies with receiving and recording student payments including tuition.
- Submit nutrition claims to the Department of Public Instructions.
- Seek opportunities to implement efficiencies to meet organizational objectives.
- Attend committee meetings as necessary and prepare meeting minutes.
- Other ad-hoc projects and reporting as assigned.
Qualifications Include:
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Proficient in database systems and business applications such as G-Suite and Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance.
- Reliable transportation for minimal travel among three campuses.
- Wisconsin resident and eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in a related field is a plus.
- Sage Intacct experience is an advantage.
- General knowledge of accounting systems.
