Responsibilities :
- Involves developing, interpreting and implementing financial concepts for financial planning, resource planning (dollars), and control of organizational budget. Will analyze and prepare recommendations for financial plans, including annual resource allocations, future requirements, and operating forecasts
- Coordinates and facilitates the gatheing of budgetary and resource requirements information during planning stages, such as the annual budgeing process and new proposal applications for federal, non-profit and industry grants. Manages the budget development in collaboration with the management team for the Department and with participating labs from other units.
- Supervises activities associated with creating, maintaining and reporting on the operational and capital budgets and budget processes, academic and staff budgeted FTE, the performance of financial planning (including problem definition, forecasting, data collection, development of alternative solutions), the performance of human resources FTE planning (position management, staffing forecasting, data collection), development of policy or action recommendations in the areas of budget, finance and human resource planning, and report preparation
- Extensive knowledge of finance policies, practices and systems, budgeting and reporting techniques, accounting and bookkeeping. Includes MyReports, Bearbuy, MyExpense, People Soft, UCPath Box, and any other campus apps used frequently by Financial Officers
- Solid understanding of financial and resource planning concepts as well as how to control organizational budgeting.
- Ability to prepare and present materials to internal and external constituents
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a lead/supervisor/manager.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Finance/Finance Administration
- Master's degree in Business Administration Focus in Finance or in a related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
- Grant management experience or academic experience.
