Currently, Sener is seeking a Financial Manager to oversee and coordinate the financial strategy for its subsidiaries in the United States and Canada. The position offers flexibility, allowing the candidate to be based at our Los Angeles or Toronto office. This strategic role will be crucial in ensuring Sener’s financial success in these regions within the civil engineering sector. The successful candidate must be fluent in Spanish, in addition to English.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the financial department of the US and Canada subsidiaries. Develop and implement the financial strategy for both subsidiaries, aligning decisions with the global objectives of the group
- Monthly reporting to the group with a comprehensive understanding of the projects and business, and preparation of reports requested by the Group’s Financial Management
- Use Sener’s accounting software tools, including recording financial transactions and reconciling accounts
- Oversee the monthly and annual closing process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established deadlines
- Ensure proper management of cash flow and liquidity, including the preparation of cash forecasts, bank account reconciliations, and communication with financial institutions
- Conduct analytical reporting and provide key information to support strategic decision-making
- Oversee the execution of budgets, forecasts, and financial planning, generate follow-up reports, and analyze deviations
- Supervise tax management, ensuring compliance with tax obligations and preparing tax returns
- Collaborate with project directors to ensure the accurate billing and collection of ongoing projects
- Track accounting provisions and contingencies related to projects
- Manage relationships with both internal and external auditors, providing necessary information and documentation
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies and processes
- Contribute to the improvement of accounting procedures and processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency and proposing solutions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- An MBA or master’s in finance, Auditing, or Project Management is a plus
- 5-6 years of experience in a financial or auditing at a Big Four firm an asset but not needed
- Experience in the financial departments of engineering companies will be considered an advantage but not mandatory
- Must have experience working within a project-based Engineering\Construction environment
- Knowledge of local and Spanish financial, accounting, and tax regulations
- Proficiency in financial management software and advanced office tools (Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, ERP systems, and accounting software)
- Ability to maintain and implement management control systems and tax analysis
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is mandatory
