Finance Manager - Intertek Testing Services NA Inc

Intertek, a leading provider of ATIC (Assurance, Testing, Inspection, and Certification) Services, is looking for a Finance Manager to join our Electrical team.

Job Overview

This position is responsible for the financial management of an assigned business line, including participating in month-end close, preparation of data and trending/analysis of said data, and working with the business leaders to prepare forecasts, etc. Overall expectation is to provide business advisory and partnership to drive revenue and profit growth as well as to drive free cash flow generation.

Reporting Structure

This position reports to the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Director.

Scope of Work

• Assist in the financial management of a $200 million revenue budget, based upon currently assigned areas of responsibility - presently 18 locations in North America.
• Actively participate in the Month End Close process, including Revenue and Expense reconciliations and related General Ledger entry preparation.
• Assist in the monthly preparation and updating of all related trend data reporting - graphs etc.
• Prepare monthly Business Expense Review reporting - Prior month expense analysis by Location.
• Actively participate in developing improved forecasting models.
• Liaise with site managers and support staff researching items on P&L and provide customer service
• P&L close and analysis, lease and capital review, forecasting and budgeting process improvement and liaison with local staff and central transaction and GL team
• Actively participate in the management of fixed asset system updates, which will include fixed asset inventories.
• Lead/Participate in revenue process management including control of billing accuracy and support of collection of accounts receivable.
• Ensure internal controls are in compliance with the Intertek Group standards.
• Partner with financial leadership team to improve financial processes, policies, systems/tools, training programs, reporting and controls throughout the organization
• Ensure the finance activities comply with the highest standards of accuracy, validity, and ethics and ensure adherence to the Intertek Accounting Policies.

Who We're Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field of study
• Minimum 6 years hands-on experience in Accounting or Finance
• A strong understanding of proper accounting procedures and US GAAP is essential.
• Demonstrated ability to problem-solve
• Prior experience with statistical analysis, database reporting, and modeling
• Attention to detail and accuracy is imperative
• Ability to prioritize and manage different projects and priorities simultaneously
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Extremely proficient with Microsoft Excel and advanced functions.
• Candidate must have the ability to work under pressure and meet fixed deadlines on a timely basis
• Candidate must be a highly organized individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to travel up to 5% of the time

Preferred Skillset

• CPA certification
• MBA or similar Masters Degree
• 8 years of hands-on experience in Accounting of Finance
