Responsibilities
1. Accounting Duties:
- Work with the outsourced accounting team on maintaining accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and credit card and bank reconciliations.
- Manage processes for deposits.
- Manage all accounts payable and contracts with vendors.
- Monitor accounts receivable for all payments from community partners, counseling subsidy programs, and Training and Education programming.
- Share monthly financial statements, reports, and reconciliations with the President & CEO
- Collect all reports for Board and Finance Committee meetings
- Billing:
- Oversee the Revenue Cycle Management process, including ensuring coding, claims submission, and follow-up on unpaid claims are maintained effectively and efficiently.
- Oversee billing for community partners, counseling subsidy, and Training and Education programming.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and billing practices.
- Communicate with insurance companies, clients, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries and discrepancies.
3. Collaboration with Outsourced Accounting Team:
- Work closely with the external accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting, budgeting and compliance with regulations.
- Provide necessary documentation and reports for audits and financial reviews.
- Facilitate communication between clients and accounting partners to address financial concerns.
- Monitor cash flow.
4. Client Support:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding bookkeeping and billing inquiries.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to clients, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Educate clients on billing procedures and financial processes as needed.
5. Continuous Improvement:
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and changes in regulations related to bookkeeping and billing.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement efficient solutions.
Qualifications
- Proven accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare setting with medical billing responsibilities. Knowledge of healthcare billing regulations and coding (CPT, ICD-10, etc.).
- Proficiency in accounting billing software.
- Proficient and working knowledge of MS Office suite and SharePoint including a strong competence and expertise using Excel
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory; relevant experience will be considered.
