Job Description:
The Finance Manager will play a key leadership role in managing the financial health and strategic financial planning of the organization. This individual will oversee all financial aspects of the organization, ensuring strong fiscal management, compliance with relevant regulations, and alignment with the mission and goals of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger
- Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements to the board, leadership team, and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as nonprofit-specific accounting standards
- Lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely completion
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to support the organization’s goals
- Provide strategic financial analysis to support decision-making and growth initiatives
- Collaborate with other department leaders to ensure alignment between financial goals and operational priorities
- Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in nonprofit financial management, including leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, regulations, and best practices
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex financial projects and develop strategic financial plans
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders
