The Finance Director, Pricing is responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing long-term pricing strategies. This role is instrumental in driving positive change and collaboration with other departments to develop pricing strategies, policies, and tools to achieve business results. Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Merchandising, Installations, Sales, and Marketing teams to align and implement pricing strategies, including pricing tiers and thresholds to optimize total margin, and execute on the pricing related updates.
- Design and report metrics of business, financial, and operational performance with regards to pricing and discounting. Define pricing KPIs and measure the effectiveness of pricing changes to enable continuous improvement.
- Analyze market trends, including competitive benchmarking, to understand competitive threats and refine approaches for price capture.
- Understand the value drivers of the business and determine the Empire price premium by market and product category
- Perform continuous price band analysis to understand how the customer is responding to the product assortment and pricing.
- Collaborate with the Merchandising team on developing and executing liquidation pricing and product transition modeling.
- Lead and manage the pricing team, as well as drive change across the organization to enhance pricing acumen and execution.
- Ensure compliance to Empire financial policies and procedures.
- Provide ad hoc analysis as requested by senior management.
- Perform other functions as necessary or as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a pricing function with proven track record of implementing pricing processes from the ground up and developing and evaluating pricing strategies.
- Experience with analyzing big data via data structuring and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.).
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate findings into actionable solutions and processes.
- Basic understanding of statistics.
- Outstanding organizational, analytical, and multi-tasking skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence others.
- Ability to develop strong relationships at all levels within the Company.
- Ability to lead and manage a team.
- Highly detail oriented.
- Ability to manage multiple projects through the project management process.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
