Overview:
This is a Full-Time Finance and Insurane Coordinator role.
The Finance and Insurance Coordinator is responsible for monitoring claims through the entire billing cycle and generate reports to research and follow up on pending claims. This position requires the ability to collaborate interdepartmentally to ensure accurate and timely claim submission and processing. The Coordinator will require excellent customer services skills as interacting with patients, their insurance issues and outstanding balances will be an integral part of the position.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and update patient insurance and billing informatio
Audit and create claims to be sent to insurance carriers
Monitor and follow-up on outstanding claims
Maintain knowledge of insurance plans and fee schedules
Ability to identify patients in the schedule with co-pays or financial concerns and effectively communicate that to patients
Responsible for collection efforts including preparation of letters, texts, emails as well as phone follow up
Understand Pre-Determinations from insurance carriers and have the ability to explain benefits and copays to patients
Respond to daily patient inquiries concerning insurance coverage and copays in a timely manner
Correspond with insurance companies to resolve payment delays, request for additional information, or discuss denied treatment plans
Run and analyze monthly billing reports
Create and maintain strong interdepartmental relationships
Qualifications:
At least 3 years of experience in the Dental Field (Front Desk or Billing)
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to work under pressure and prioritize.
Ability to work proficiently and efficiently in a timely manner.
Ability to utilize multiple computer systems and programs.
An understanding of dental codes, procedures and billing requirements.
Ability to communicate effectively with Providers, Office Managers, dental staff, insurance carriers and patients.
Some knowledge of CDT /CPT and ICD9 codes.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to multitask
Problem solving and organizational skills required
