Summary:
The Finance and Accounting Analyst is responsible for supporting the Finance Director with forecasting, analyzing, and reporting on project level financial data.
Job Duties:
- Create and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensure financial information has been recorded accurately
- Act as liaison between the finance department and other departments throughout organization
- Develop tracking systems and create historical financial reports as needed
- Perform financial forecasting and reconciliation of internal accounts
- Ensure contract compliance on all activities
- Prepare financial information and reports for internal and external clients
- Develop and prepare budgets, financial forecasts and tracking reports to assist management in meeting fiscal objectives and contractual financial requirements
- Reconcile financial activities, and identify and correct discrepancies and problems
- Identify and research financial trends and brief management on emerging budget issues, and assist department management in mitigating financial issues
- Serve as subject matter expert for financial practices and policies to ensure billing and financial integrity
- Prepare and track expenses submitted to corporate Accounts Payable, and prepare month and accruals as required
- Prepare backup documentation for monthly billings to client
- Monitor staff levels for forecasting purposes, closely working with Human Capital department to document terminations, new hires and transfer job titles
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by management
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting or Finance required
- At least two (2) years of related experience required
- At least three (3) years of experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting preferred
- Proficiency in MS Excel, outstanding verbal and written communication, strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and results oriented
- Knowledge of financial and managerial accounting
- Ability to work independently and to interact successfully with project staff
- Ability to execute many complex tasks simultaneously
- Experience in the creation of complex data reports and analysis
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
