As a Finance Advisor, the role entails the duty of guaranteeing that financial reports are delivered promptly and precisely on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis to both the Controller and operations team. This is crucial for boosting profitability. Responsibilities include scrutinizing financial data concerning both actual results and forecasts/budgets, in addition to active participation in the facility's initiatives and routine accounting tasks.
The position is best suited for someone with at least 5-7 years of finance-related experience, with a preference for those who have spent 3-4 years in the manufacturing sector. The role is aimed at providing comprehensive financial reporting to aid in achieving our corporate goals. Furthermore, it provides an opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to evaluate data, offer management insightful evaluations of major projects, and suggest ways to enhance them for the betterment of the company's business outcomes.

Responsibilties
- Oversee cost reporting, ensuring timely and precise analysis. Offer reliable financial advice to the management to help reduce production costs and achieve goals. This involves examining any differences from the budget and predictions.
- Spearhead the financial planning of the yearly budget.
- Compile the monthly forecast, considering significant issues affecting the mill's financial outcome.
- Handle crucial tasks related to month-end closure and subsequent reporting.
- Contribute to the financial evaluation of proposed ventures to make informed business decisions and assess the outcomes of finished projects.
- Apply and share expertise in GAAP, aiming for strict adherence to financial controls through the implementation and upkeep of financial procedures and guidelines.
- Commit to excellence in performance with a customer-centric approach in service delivery.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to the financial team members.
- Minimum of 5-7 years in Accounting or Finance; advanced Finance degree or certification (plus)
- Minimum 3-4 years' work experience in a manufacturing environment and has demonstrated strengths in analysis, planning, forecasting and interpersonal skills.
- Have a broad appreciation and understanding of finance, business management and the interrelationships among these disciplines, as well as thorough knowledge of cost accounting and GAAP.
- Understanding and ability to implement necessary internal controls, including SOX experience.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate and communicate with all levels of employees and management.
- Demonstrated ability to implement creative solutions – committed to continuous improvement.
- High level of integrity to ensure accurate reporting of financial data.
- Can work independently without great need of supervision. Takes initiative and is self-directed.
- Can manage multiple projects at one time.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- ERP Systems experience required; SAP experience a plus.
- Commit to working safely and support/promote all mill safety initiatives and programs
