Job Description
The Renewance Field Service Technician will provide customers with technical support for industrial batteries used in stationary energy storage systems, including hands on installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of batteries. The Field Service Technician must be able to diagnose and resolve technical issues to ensure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the product life. The selected candidate can expect a fast paced, exciting learning environment through the rapid growth of the business.
Responsibilities:
- Install and commission battery energy storage systems and related products.
- Install and configure controls-related firmware necessary to communicate with and control the battery system.
- Support ‘cold' commissioning (electrical checks using auxiliary power) and ‘hot' commissioning of battery systems (energized electrical checks) and correct battery related performance issues including performing cell and module charging/balancing.
- Provide technical support for fault isolation and troubleshooting during all phases of commissioning.
- Communicate directly with the customer on all aspects of project execution including accurate and timely daily reporting.
- Coordinate return and repair of defective parts in support of warranty claims
- Travel to and remain at assigned jobsites until assigned tasks are completed
- Manage field tools for field assignments / projects
- Ensure excellence in all operational areas
Requirements
- High School diploma and introductory college coursework.
- 2+ years relevant experience in electrical technician & services in electrical power equipment or energy space and possess related safety certifications.
- Experience with computers and installation of controls related firmware and software.
- Fluent with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively work as an individual but also coordinate and work with a team.
- Fast learner and capable of executing multiple projects and objectives
- Ability to follow directions and complete tasks per commitment
- Self-directed, highly detail-oriented, organized, and flexible
- Accomplishments that reflect leadership, teamwork, integrity, and accountability
- Willingness to travel and work with customers
Desirable
- Degree in a technical field or Computer Science/Engineering.
- Demonstrated ability to manage, analyze, and interpret data
- Knowledge of battery standards, regulations, and safety procedures
- Demonstrated accomplishments in meeting project/program goals, while satisfying quality, performance, schedule, and cost requirements
- Project and people management experience
- Demonstrated accomplishments in customer-focused problem solving
Travel, Location, and Training
- Preferred locations are Arizona, Nevada, and Southern California, though other locations will be considered. Requires 75% or more travel to customer sites.
