Traveling Service Technician or Traveling Service Engineer
Reports to: Field Service Manager
Cooperates with: All Departments
Compensation: Total compensation includes a base hourly rate starting at $27/hr, overtime, and annual bonus.
Primary Responsibility: This position is responsible for supporting customers with on-site service, technical support, and on-site training. The primary functions of this position are commissioning new equipment; preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of existing equipment; and telephone customer support. The Field Service Technician also prepares reports documenting the work performed and the performance of the equipment. The Field Service Technician typically works in a non-smoking environment. This position requires travel for a majority of the time (75%).
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Commissioning the total system scope supplied by MIRATECH on new installations
- Perform routine maintenance and service on existing products
- Provide telephone support to customers including troubleshooting, replacement parts identification
- Site coordination and project meetings
- Post-commissioning customer training on operations and maintenance
- Daily reports to customers and internal staff while in the field
- Follow up customer calls after service work completion
- Keep up-to-date on company products and services
- Plan own work schedule efficiently
- Maintain test equipment and special tools calibration
Qualifications:
- Preference for candidates based in Tulsa or are willing to relocate.
- Working knowledge of industrial instrumentation & controls including analog transmitters, temperature/pressure measuring devices, PID controls.
- Proficiency with AC and DC Circuits including Relay Logic
- Sharp analytical mind with an interest in engines, controls, and emissions
- Enthusiasm to learn and become an expert
- Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and work in a loosely structured environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- 60-75% overnight travel - with higher concentrations during peak seasons.
- Able to work on physically demanding tasks with heavy lifting, working off ladders, elevated platforms and enclosed spaces.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Must possess valid driver's license
- Foreign language skills are a plus
- Must possess a passport or have the ability to obtain one
