Commercial Kitchen Equipment Field Service Technician Trainee - Chicago Area.
We are looking to hire a Field Service Technician Trainee to be trained to look after the service and maintenance needs of our customers. You will be paid will being trained and while learning in our classes.
Overview:
As a Field Service Technician Trainee, you will be required to travel to client locations, install new equipment, respond to service requests, troubleshoot equipment issues, and provide technical training on company equipment.
Training with a Senior Technician will be provided while attending our classes on Electrical, Gas, Steam and Refrigeration Technology. You will be paid while you are learning a new trade.

If you like to fix things, we will train you to work hand in hand with our customers ensuring that their equipment is working correctly and safely as well as helping to maintain, service and repair commercial kitchen equipment in a timely manner.

Ultimately, with the proper training, a top-level Field Service Technician efficiently manages all service callouts, providing high-quality service and repairs for any job size.

Responsibilities (after and during training):
- Being routed by Dispatcher to job site and equipment to be repaired.
- Drive to job sites.
- Work and repair equipment on-site.
- Complete work documents accurately via tablet for the customer to approve.
- Make contact with the Manufacturers or customer service department if the job is covered by warranty.
- Turn in all paperwork to the office on time to process for billing.
- Order and all parts that are needed to repair equipment.
- Maintain vehicle maintenance on the company vehicle.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Possess a valid Driver’s License.
- High school or equivalent (required).
- Possess a clear driving history.
- Detailed oriented.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work with minimal or no supervision, after completion of training.
- Set and prioritize responsibilities.
- Willing to be challenged on a daily basis.
- Handle a variety of work assignments.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
Education and/or Experience:
- EPA Universal Certification is a plus but not mandatory (we will train and provide you testing for the EPA 608 Certificate)
- High School or GED equivalent.
- Previous HVAC (Refrigeration), Electrical or Automotive experience is preferred but not a must.
- Computer and Tablet Skills.
Physical Demands:
- Bending, stooping, standing.
- Pushing and Pulling.
- Able to lift 70 lbs.
Work Environment:
- Inside kitchen area.
- Heavy traffic areas that may cause distractions.
- Loud noises.
- Sometimes, greasy and wet floors.
Required Experience:
- General knowledge of Commercial Kitchen Equipment is a plus.
- Electrical, mechanical, and maintenance experience also is a plus.
