Field Service Technician -- International Manufacturer at Activ8

An international manufacturing company is looking for a Field Service Technician based out of the Charlotte, NC area. The ideal candidate will have a maintenance background and be able to provide technical support.

This position is direct hire and full-time with an excellent benefits package.

Field Service Technician Responsibilities:

• Travel to customer locations to identity any technical problems and perform on-site repair
• Offer installation support for fabrication, automated and milling equipment
• Read mechanical drawings and blueprints to resolve issues and complete repairs
• Document and report any issues
• Provide top customer service to clients
• Show attention to detail

Field Service Technician Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in engineering preferred, or a 2-year Electronic or Technical degree. Relevant experience will also be considered.
• 2+ years maintenance or related experience required (such as Industrial, Manufacturing, Metal Working, or Automotive)
• Able to use dial indicators, micrometers, voltmeters, oscilloscope, and calipers or other kinds of measurement equipment
• Able to travel for projects, including some overnight. Travel would be Monday through Friday with weekends off. Travel expenses are covered.
• Familiarity with EDM, CNC, Lasers, Compressors, or Milling equipment is preferred
• A valid driver’s license is required
• Familiarity with hydraulics and pneumatics systems is a plus

This position is in a manufacturing work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, lift in excess of 50 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
