Job Description:
Safbon Water Technology has been recently acquired by BW Water (part of BW Water Group) and is seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Service Technician/Engineer to join our dynamic team. The Field Service Engineer is the primary person responsible for end result installation, commissioning, training, system repair and upgrades/ retrofits as required on the remote job site. The Sr. Field Service Engineer directs installation, commissioning and retrofit of water and wastewater treatment systems once all parts are available at the remote job site. The scope of direction of staff includes Field Service Engineers, client on-site staff, contract labor, SWT engineering, project management and procurement staff in order to install, commission, start-up and train end users prior to equipment hand-off.
Essential Duties:
- Prepare for each Field Service visit, making sure that all necessary documentation and tools are available, tools and materials required are available and calibrated according to standard, review and request other material or personnel resources needed based on project needs. Review CAD, general arrangement and civil engineering drawings and materials shipped to site and discuss any unique issues related to installation and start up with Engineering staff.
- Manage site activity by evaluating overall installation plan once on-site, making written recommendations on equipment, design, fabrication processes, and control changes that should be considered by SWT for purposes of product improvement and improving customer satisfaction. The Field Service Engineer/Technician is expected to conduct all site work to the satisfaction of the client or designated representative in a professional manner. .
- Direct resources on-site to construct, test and start up equipment. Oversee other Field Service Engineers who are appointed to the site. Train resources to continually operate and maintain equipment to optimal performance levels. Record and track training progress with client on-site staff. Obtain signature from clients documenting completion of training requirements. Coach and demonstrate techniques for operational excellence. Document and report any deviation from recommended operational methods.
- Provide technical details and solutions by collaborating with site/client Management, SWT Management, Project Management and discipline Engineers. Provide updates, review issues, provide potential solutions for situational changes. This includes documenting and reporting on-site activity and changes to equipment "As Built". Document and report changes requested by the client. Review requested changes and rationale with Project Manager, Project Engineer and Field Services Manager prior to change to gain agreement/approval.
- Promote the use of continued Field Service and Spare Parts support following start-up of the equipment by sharing the cost and operational benefits of an ongoing maintenance agreement.
- Participate in all company-sponsored training programs.
- Monitor and manage all site work in a safe manner and according to procedure. Maintain Safety Records and hold site safety meetings with client and contract personnel.
- Complete Daily Reports and sign-off sheets and distribute accordingly. Provide a full field report to include lessons learned information to share with all departments to improve our future work processes.
The Lead Field Service Engineer reports directly to the Field Services Manager and directs the work activities of Client and contract personnel on-site, Mechanical, Process, Electrical/I&C Engineering, Procurement, Project Management personnel related to the remote project being executed. The Field Service Engineer/Technician is also responsible to check jobs where other Field Service Engineers are appointed, review overall quality of job, review job site or equipment issues for effective problem resolution, and coach for increased knowledge and performance of all Field Service staff.
Job Requirements:
- BS in Engineering or Technical Community College degree required.
- Minimum of 7-10 years in Field Service within the Water/Wastewater Industry.
- Ability to travel domestically and to international job sites. Must have a valid passport.
- Fluent in English, bilingual in Spanish/Portuguese/Arabic preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite.
- Basic safety knowledge and willingness to follow all SWT Safety Policy and follow PPE requirements.
