FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN - PHARMACY AUTOMATION
LOCATION: Elk Grove, IL
Company Vehicle Provided – 90% travel. – Good Drivers License – ability to pass drug and background check.
3 weeks out of 4 in a month for travel.
1 week in a month will be slower.
All travel accommodations taken care of – cell – laptop

$25 / hr. after 40 hours they get OT (approx. $20k over base)

OUR CLIENT’s Field Service Engineers act as our customer’s first responders by keeping drug dispensing machines up and running in order to allow pharmacist’s, doctors and nurses to promote essential patient safety and care. Field Service Engineers perform duties which include preventive maintenance, emergency and on-call service, and operational maintenance. They act as OUR CLIENT’s Brand Ambassadors as they perform user training and recommend products and services tailored to every customer’s needs.
DUTIES: To perform all customer support duties and responsibilities relating to Automated Pharmacy Systems include:
- Providing scheduled routine preventive maintenance or on call services to customers in assigned areas.
- The Field Service Engineer provides services to machines as assigned and assists on new products as required.
- Install machines and reports product quality issues to assigned Field Service Manager and/or Customer Service. At installation, coordinates with movers, electricians, and low voltage to ensure an optimal customer experience.
- Train customers on system and light maintenance operations.
- Periodically visits customers to conduct performance checks on products.
- Conduct quality control checks on new machines.
- Repair small parts and ship parts to customers.
- Maintain accountability/inventory for crash kit.
- Advise Direct Report of any problems or opportunities that arise within their area of responsibility.
- Ensure that required administrative paperwork such as service work orders and expense reports are processed in a timely manner.
- Communicate information with appropriate parties.
EDUCATION or EXPERIENCE:
- A Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Electrical, or Electronics is preferred but not required.
- Associate’s degree from a Technical or Vocational School or 1-3 years’ industry work experience preferred.
- Experience working in a dynamic and on-call environment is desirable but not required.
- A solid background in technical or Mechanical Engineering such as Automotive, HVAC, Electrical, Machining & Manufacturing, related military experience or preferred equivalent 1-3 years field service experience with electro-mechanical products.
- Successful candidates will have an effective communication style that builds customer's trust and satisfaction.
- Experience reading blueprints and diagrams with the ability to interpret technical information. Exceptional communication and customer service skills. PC Computer software and hardware proficient.
- Must be a self-starter, well organized, and be able to work well with a team but demonstrate work independently without supervision.
- Training is available and support is always available for the traveling position.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Travel is required. Candidate must demonstrate the willingness to travel up 30 to70% or more of the time for technical and training purposes.
- Ability to work on-call hours including weekend, overtime, over-night travel, and/or holiday work.
- Ability to lift, lower and carry objects up to 50lbs or more., ability to reach and use fine manipulation skills.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and an excellent driving record.
