Job Summary
Under the direction of the Operations Manager, Field Technicians will be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining gas compression units at various clients’ sites. This position demands a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and strong commitment to safety.
- Equipment Inspections: Conduct routine inspections of gas compressor units to assess their condition and identify potential issues or maintenance requirements.
- Troubleshootin Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and operational problems with gas compressors, analyzing performance date and using diagnostic tools to pinpoint the root cause of issues.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Perform scheduled maintenance and unscheduled repairs on gas compressor equipment, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Preventive maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans to enhance equipment reliability and extend its operations life.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines, protocols, and regulations while working on-site, promote a strong safety culture and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs as well as update equipment manuals and service logs.
- Customer communications: Interact with clients professionally, providing updates on maintenance progress, explaining report requirements, and offering recommendations to optimize equipment performance.
- Troubleshooting Support: Provide remote technical support to clients and collaborate with the service team to address complex issues or emergencies.
- Continuous learnin Stay updated on advancements in gas compression technology, attending training sessions and workshops to enhance your technical knowledge and fills.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or relevant technical certification is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Gas Compressor Field Technician or similar role in the oil and gas industry.
- In-Depth knowledge of gas compressor systems, including reciprocating and centrifugal compressors.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as relevant troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and hand tools.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations in the oil and gas industry.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with clients and colleagues effectively.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in outdoor and sometimes challenging environments.
- Willingness to travel to different client sites and work flexible hours as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
