Position Overview:
We are seeking candidates to be key members of our Technical Services and that enjoy significant customer exposure. You will have the opportunity to work on some of the most pressing challenges the world is facing today such as clean water, power generation and clean emissions. The position will engage in the following activities:
- The Service Technician’s role is to provide services to customers in terms of building, installing, start up, maintenance, troubleshooting and upgrading of equipment.
- Main responsibility is to provide per specifications, efficient and productive technical services for the blower systems’ mechanical and electrical components.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Install and assemble blower package components at customers sites.
- Supervise or perform installation and startup of equipment at customer sites according to internal checklists and procedures.
- Perform maintenance services on blowers according to internal procedures including the removal and installation of enclosures and duct work.
- Rebuild and change components of core blower along with servicing the equipment.
- Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis on rotating equipment.
- Install electrical components in control panels.
- Perform adjustments to PLC and HMI software as needed.
- Write and compile service reports including but not limited to checklists, daily logs and photos.
- Perform work following EHS guidelines.
- Coordinate with plants/sites maintenance managers for tools and necessary support needed to perform services.
- Support claim management process as needed.
Required Knowledge/Skills
- 3+ years of related work experience.
- Knowledge of internal turbo blower or compressors components in order to disassemble, change components and re-assemble.
- Knowledge of rotational equipment in order to do shaft alignment, use of laser equipment, balancing techniques and process, application and use of disk flexible couplings, electrical motors used as pumps or main drivers.
- Electrical panel knowledge.
- Ability to read and understand drawings and electrical schematics.
- Travel required 60%.
- Ability to learn and participate in continuous education on turbo blowers.
- Ability to work with interdisciplinary groups (Engineering, Sales, Management).
- Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and able to pass forklift driving certifications.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills
- Experience with turbo blower and compressor systems.
- Allen Bradley, Siemens, Modicon PLC and HMI basic programming.
- Experience with flow control valves, dissolved oxygen sensors, air and water oil cooling systems.
- Associate degree or certifications in rotating equipment mechanics and/or electrical panels is a plus.
