Role: Field Service Engineer
Location: Remote (with access to a major airport), with a preference for candidates based in IA, MO, TX, or OH.
Summary: We're looking for a skilled and experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team. This role is focused on providing exceptional service to our clients in the manufacturing industry, specifically those in the food and beverage sector. The ideal candidate will have a background in automated equipment and be comfortable with extensive travel to various client sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair automated equipment in manufacturing facilities, with a focus on the food and beverage industry.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues using expertise in Allen Bradley PLCs and servo motors.
- Build strong relationships with customers by providing exceptional technical support and ensuring their satisfaction.
- Be ready to travel up to 75% of the time, with trips ranging from 1 to 10 days, as needed to address equipment issues or perform scheduled maintenance.
- Keep detailed records of all service activities, including repairs, maintenance, and customer interactions.
- Deliver training to customers on equipment operation and maintenance.
- Work closely with internal teams to share insights on equipment performance, identify areas for improvement, and contribute to product development.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- 3-5 years of experience in field service, ideally within the manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in Allen Bradley PLCs and servo motors is a must.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with customers and team members.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to travel frequently and sometimes at short notice.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of responsibility and initiative.
- Experience in the food and beverage manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
