Symmetrio is actively recruiting for a Field Service Engineer for its client, a leading multi-national medical device company. This customer-focused role involves installing, servicing, maintaining, and modifying automation equipment at various client sites. As a crucial part of the team, this position plays an essential role in addressing complex client challenges with specialized training provided to ensure high-quality work.
In most cases, the Field Service Engineer will report to an onsite manager, typically working at the same facility each day.
We’re looking for a candidate who is flexible and open to occasional travel outside the primary territory to support broader regional needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide service, preventative maintenance, modifications, and installations on diagnostic automation systems with minimal supervision.
- Troubleshoot and repair system issues on-site, delivering effective and timely solutions.
- Train operators to optimize system performance, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
- Manage company assets, including phone, computer, tools, and inventory parts.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Complete administrative tasks such as time tracking, training records, and expense reports.
- Offer consistent feedback on equipment repair status to both clients and the manager.
- Work closely with the technical support center to provide exceptional customer service.
- Provide additional service as needed for the broader region and client base.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering field is preferred. Equivalent military training is also valuable.
- Typically 8+ years of related experience.
- Previous experience with factory automation systems, robotic systems, or diagnostics laboratories is strongly preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to work well both independently and in a team.
- Proficiency with computer-based tools for reporting and communication.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for training, with availability for various shifts and on-call hours as needed.
- Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement and excellent judgment in customer relations and asset management.
- Strong technical knowledge, including mechanics, electrical systems, chemistry, and software; familiarity with electronics, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems is beneficial.
