Field Service Engineer - Bruker

Bruker Nano, one of Bruker’s four operating segments, provides customers in academic and governmental institutions, life science, materials, and applied industries with the tools to determine the characteristics of matter and visualize the structure of molecules. Divisions within BNANO include Bruker AXS, Bruker Nano Analytics, Bruker Nano Surfaces and Metrology, Fluorescence Microscopy, and Canopy.

As a Field Service Engineer, you perform the installation, inspection, repair and maintenance of the Bruker AXS – XRD product line: D8 DISCOVER, ADVANCE, ENDEAVOR and PHASERs.  

• Install analytical x-ray equipment
• Analyze malfunctioning x-ray equipment and determine corrective action, replace faulty components, and make necessary adjustments and alignments
• Perform preventive maintenance according to written preventative maintenance procedures
• Prepare and submit reports covering all job activities with accuracy and detail
• Participate in on-the-job training of field service personnel when required
• Suggest methods to offer improvement to equipment performance and functionality
• Between assignments be available during normal working hours for immediate response to reassignment and telephone support
• Remain in contact with assigned customers to ensure that there are no unreported problems
• Promote and maintain service contracts in assigned region         
• Keep up-to-date on new products and product changes within his/her required sphere of activity to increase own capabilities and skills
• Conduct all field assignments according to service department procedures
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager or supervisor
• Travel to customer locations 75% or higher

• Demonstrated ability to analyze, diagnose, and repair complex equipment problems in a minimum amount of time
• Ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner with both internal and external customers
• Excellent customer relations skills and the ability to make timely and effective decisions
• Familiarity with the operation and use of standard electronic test equipment
• Familiarity with the use of personal computers
• Ability to travel extensively by air and car both domestically and internationally if needed
• AA degree in electronics or equivalent experience
• Military training in advanced electronics preferred
• Three (3) years previous service experience installing and repairing complex electronic systems

Bruker Corporation offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, 401(k), paid vacation, holidays, and tuition assistance (as applicable). Salary range between $71,500 and $105,000.
