Field Service Engineer - Machine Tool/CNC Technology (35095) at Activ8

An international manufacturing company specializing in machine-tool technology is looking for a Field Service Engineer based in Allentown, PA to support their fabrication division. The ideal candidate will have a maintenance background and will be able to provide field service support 90% precent of the time.

This position is direct hire and full-time with an excellent benefits package.

Field Service Engineer Responsibilities:

• Travel to customer locations to identity any technical problems and perform on-site repair
• Offer installation and maintenance support for machine tool, metal cutting, metal forming and CNC machines
• Read mechanical drawings and blueprints to resolve issues and complete repairs
• Document and report any issues
• Cross-train on mechanical, electrical and electronic maintenance
• Attend seminars and conferences
• Provide top customer service and training to clients/customers
• Show attention to detail

Field Service Engineer Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in engineering preferred, or a 2-year technical degree. Relevant experience will also be considered.
• Must have prior maintenance or related experience (such as Industrial, Manufacturing, Metal Fabrication, etc.)
• Able to use dial indicators, micrometers, voltmeters, and calipers or other kinds of measurement equipment
• Should be located in proximity to an airport (within an hour commute)
• Able to travel nationwide 85% of the time for projects, including some overnight
• Mechanical, electronics and electrical experience
• Familiarity with hydraulics and pneumatics systems is preferred
