Job Description:
BMT USA is hiring for the position of Field Service Technician in the greater New England region. Candidates who are hired for this role may be required to travel up to 50% of the time to work on-site at client locations performing the following duties:
- Assemble equipment, including small to large structures, system components, and low voltage control systems.
- Perform initial system startup, quality testing, and customer training of new equipment.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on established BMT USA equipment in the field, including troubleshooting issues, repairing or replacing defective parts, rewiring or reassembling system components, and calibrating equipment.
- Coordinate with onsite contractors to ensure the proper electrical connection of new equipment.
- Ensure a positive customer experience by providing timely service, effectively communicating, and efficiently resolving issues.
- Effectively communicate with clients via phone, email, and in person to provide status updates, diagnose and troubleshoot problems, and deliver direction or assistance for equipment operations.
- Develop and maintain service documentation, including maintenance service reports, IQ/OQ documentation, and other service documentation.
Key Skills & Attributes:
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following skills and Attributes:
- Practical knowledge of low (control) and high voltage electrical.
- Ability to perform electrical, mechanical or software troubleshooting and repairs.
- Ability to use diagnostic test equipment.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to utilize Office products for communicating and maintain service documentation.
- Self-motivated – ability to work independently and with co-workers in the field. Must have a strong sense of team, urgency, and commitment to company values.
- Genuine interest in continuous learning and improvement.
- Willing to travel approximately 40 to 50% of the time.
- Good written and verbal communication skills - listens, learns, and engages with clients to service their needs.
- High level of attention to detail.
Required Experience and Education:
To qualify for the position of Field Service Technician at BMT USA, candidates must posses the following experience or level of education:
- (2) year Technical Degree or documented field experience
- Previous experience in one or more of the following fields: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing w/ Electrical, Engineering (hands on) and Machinery repair.
Job Location & Work Environment:
Candidates who are hired for this role will be home based in the greater New England region and will be located within 1 hour of major airport. 50% of your time may be spent traveling to other states to perform on-site work.
Onsite locations include new construction and existing facilities. Some work may be performed in a “clean room” environment.
