Parts and Field Service is now looking for enthusiastic Field Service Engineers to join our skilled teams in Houston, TX and the Greater Los Angeles, CA area.

What will you be doing?
The position is open to applicants in USA, to fully support external and internal customers in the region, as well as various other time zones.
This position reports to the Coordinator Field Service Resources.
Candidates are expected to display a high level of critical thinking and reasoning skills, identify as high performers, as well as being self-motivating.
Accountabilities:
In this position, you will perform Service activities (such as overhauls and repairs) on 2-stroke marine diesel engines.
For us to be the best match, we expect you to have technical experience in reciprocating engine repair and overhaul.
You will also have a safety-first attitude.

For applicants that reside in CA/CO/WA, the hourly wage range is $32-$43.
For applicants that reside in NY, the salary/salary range/hourly wage range is $30-$41.
The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Eligibility to participate in: the discretionary incentive plan assigned to the level of position upon offer of employment; medical, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) plan and flexible spending accounts, subject to plan terms; Company-paid benefits such as life insurance, short- and long-term disability, subject to applicable waiting periods. Paid time off (PTO) is accrued on a per-pay period basis in accordance with tenure in the Company; a new hire can expect 17 days per year. Twelve (12) Company-paid holidays.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform overhauls and repairs on 2-stroke engines.
- Perform advanced mechanical, as well as electronic & automation and system integration related troubleshooting on 2-stroke engines and ancillary equipment.
- Interact professionally with customers during the work execution.
- Commissioning of service products.
- Onsite team leading and managing of the assigned team and related activities during the work execution.
- Perform internal and external progress status of the assigned work.
- Assistance in creating the Service Work Reports.
- Ensure that the work is executed according to Wärtsilä QEHS guidelines and site procedures.
- Follow-up and report on the status of work orders to customers and/or internal stakeholders.
- Continuously seek solutions according to best practices.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- A safety-first mindset.
- A passion for developing your 2-stroke knowledge to the next level.
- Relevant technical education or qualifications as a combination of education and experience with Wärtsilä, Sulzer, WinGD, Mitsubishi, MAN or Burmeister & Wain brand medium speed 2-stroke engines.
- Knowledge of electrical and automation systems related to two-stroke engines.
- Technical experience in reciprocating engine repair and overhaul with practical problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience in installation, operation and maintenance of turbochargers, pumps, heat exchangers, fuel systems, lubrication systems, cooling systems.
- Proactively consulting, advising and promoting available Wärtsilä solutions and products to customers.
