Description
As a field Sales Representative for Bunzl’s Grocery division, you will be responsible for creating, developing, and driving sales within the to-go packaging, personal protection, safety equipment, sanitation, material handling and other grocery store supply needs. This geography will cover the state of New Jersey with a heavy concentration of customers in the Philadelphia area.
To be successful in this role, you will manage and gain market share at current customers as well as identifying and driving new business accounts. In addition to serving as a business development partner, you will build customer relationships, handle customer complaints and inquiries, manage Accounts Receivables, and effectively communicate with all appropriate internal departments/personnel.
Responsibilities:
+ Increase sales through obtaining greater market share within existing accounts, while also prospecting and building business with new accounts;
+ Traveling the specified geography, servicing existing/target customers 4+ days per week;
+ Responsible for meeting or exceeding sales and margin goals;
+ Demonstrate outstanding customer service to build relationships and ensure customer satisfaction;
+ Implement and manage pricing strategies within all accounts, including driving sales of Own Brand/House Brand products;
+ Work with manufacturers' representatives to sell promoted items;
+ Attend sales meetings and meet with sales manager on a regular basis;
+ Successfully manage accounts receivables;
+ Communicate and cooperate in a productive manner with all departments;
+ Utilize all appropriate VIP (Dimensions of Professional Selling) techniques and methodologies.
Requirements:
+ High school diploma or equivalent;
+ Bachelor's degree in a business related field preferred;
+ Territory sales or Outside sales experience;
+ Experience with Sales in food processing, industrial processing, plant operating supplies, personal protection equipment or related safety items preferred;
+ Previous experience selling in a paper, packaging, janitorial/sanitation or food service distribution industry is preferred;
+ Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to work in a team setting with a diverse group of employees, managers and outside parties;
+ User level proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word and Excel required;
+ Experience with IBM I-Series/AS400 operating system highly desired;
+ Significant travel is required, sometimes with overnight stays.
