Job Summary:
The Field Sales Representative is a dynamic and results-oriented sales professional responsible for maximizing sales within the assigned territory. This role requires a strong ability to build and maintain successful business partnerships, negotiate effectively, and drive revenue growth. The Field Sales Representative will be responsible for visiting customer locations, building strong client relationships, promoting products, and analyzing market opportunities. This role involves significant travel and driving, with frequent customer visits and a focus on in-person interactions to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute in-store promotions, product activations, and educational events for retail staff.
- Collect, analyze, and report sales and promotional data to inform strategy and track performance.
- Achieve and exceed assigned sales goals by identifying growth opportunities and optimizing account performance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all stores in the assigned territory, addressing any customer concerns or needs promptly.
- Negotiate terms and close deals that benefit both the organization and business partners.
- Develop and implement market strategies to increase market share and expand brand presence.
- Report on territory performance, market demand, and competitor activities to the Regional Sales Manager.
- Conduct frequent store visits and face-to-face sales calls, with an emphasis on building lasting relationships and driving brand visibility.
- Travel regularly within the assigned territory, with a minimum of 50% of time spent on the road visiting clients, attending industry events, and conducting in-person sales activities.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and partners.
- Ability to manage a portfolio of 60-80 customer accounts simultaneously, prioritizing and managing time effectively.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends to drive decision-making and increase market share.
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects and promotions at once.
- Proficiency in CRM systems (experience with Outfield CRM is preferred) and other sales management tools.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to overcome obstacles and achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, while also being an effective team player.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be comfortable driving long distances frequently.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an outside sales role, with a proven track record of driving growth and meeting sales targets.
- Previous sales experience in the cannabis industry is strongly preferred.
- Experience managing sales territories, including building and maintaining customer relationships, is essential.
Physical and Travel Requirements:
- Must be able to travel a minimum of 50% of the time, primarily by car, to visit clients, attend industry events, and conduct in-store promotions.
- Comfortable working in various retail environments and spending significant time driving between customer locations.
