Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and driven Field Sales Representative to join our team. In this role, you will represent our company within a specified territory, building and maintaining relationships with retail accounts, wholesalers, and distributors in the tobacco industry. This position requires daily travel within your assigned territory, with occasional overnight stays, to ensure consistent coverage and excellent customer service. Your focus will be on achieving sales targets, driving market share, and promoting product visibility in alignment with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with retail accounts, wholesalers, and distributors by conducting regular in-person visits, understanding their business needs, and positioning our products effectively.
Sales Growth: Achieve and exceed sales targets by implementing effective strategies to promote products, increase market share, and drive revenue growth.
Product Presentation: Educate clients on product features, benefits, and competitive advantages; ensure displays are organized and comply with branding guidelines.
Market Insights: Gather and report information on market trends, competitive products, pricing strategies, and customer feedback to the sales and marketing teams.
Territory Planning: Develop a schedule to cover the assigned territory efficiently, prioritizing accounts based on potential and the company’s strategic goals.
Compliance: Ensure all sales activities and promotional materials adhere to company policies, state regulations, and industry standards.
Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales calls, inventory levels, and customer interactions, and prepare reports as required by the management team.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in field sales, preferably within the tobacco, beverage, or consumer packaged goods industries.
Education: High school diploma or GED required; a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is a plus.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence decision-making.
Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
Travel Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel extensively within the designated territory, including occasional overnight stays.
