About the Job
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 15 years of experience in quota-carrying cloud, software, or technology sales and account management in a business-to-business (B2B) software company.
- Experience managing and leading a Sales team and delivering new customer growth at scale.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience leveraging cross-functional leaders including engineering, marketing, partner sales managers, external partners and solution specialists to build and implement sales strategies that yield positive business outcomes and results.
- Experience leading a team of sellers working with customers that span multiple industries and aligning technology solutions to drive high value business outcomes.
- Experience building high-performing teams in a competitive environment.
- Experience leading a team to acquire new customers at scale.
- Experience promoting Greenfield accounts.
- Knowledge of startup customers and the differentiated value that Google Cloud can provide these clients.
About the job
As a Field Sales Manager, you'll build and manage a team of expert Sales Representatives, working to drive awareness, adoption, and growth. You’ll lead your team to drive and accelerate consumption and usage of Google Cloud technologies with venture-backed startups that are well-funded and require bespoke and focused engagement to adopt Google Cloud as their platform of choice. You will participate actively in all aspects of building the business, including attainment of assigned strategic objectives, business planning, demand generation, account engagement, and acquisition/account-based marketing activities. You will also act as a market ambassador for Google Cloud in the startup ecosystem, including frequent engagement with venture capital firms, incubators/accelerators, and founder communities.

Responsibilities
- Lead and implement go-to-market strategies in the western market with a focus on Early Stage, Venture Capital-backed startups. Work with Customer Engineering, Marketing, Demand Generation, Solutions, Product, and Engineering teams to produce a focused value proposition and sales go-to-market.
- Build and maintain relationships to influence long-term strategic direction. Act as an advisor to customers.
- Lead a team of sellers to deliver business growth, and grow the acquisition of new startup customers. Create and implement strategies that guide your business to drive business growth, in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Act as a visible and vocal spokesperson inside and outside Google Cloud, specifically, participate in startup ecosystem events and programs to increase the awareness and understanding of Google Cloud in the San Francisco startup ecosystem.
