Field Safety Coordinator – Heavy Civil Construction - Base Salary to 130k/year – Bronx, NY

• Our client is one of the largest privately held utility contractors in the New York Metropolitan area and has been in business for the past 25 years. They build public and private projects and are committed to excellence and innovation, while valuing the contributions of their employees.
• Currently, they are seeking a Field Safety Coordinator to join their team. Our client works for a wide variety of companies including New York City Department of Environmental Protection, New York City Design and Construction, Economic Development Corporation and Con Edison as well as other public and private entities. The job sites are throughout the five Boroughs of NYC.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct daily job site inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and Site-Specific Health & Safety Plans.
• Audit findings and relevant pictures are imported into Triumph's safety platform via iPad.
• Capable of identifying existing and potential exposures and able to recommend corrective action.
• Experience with New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) a must.
• Performs weekly toolbox talks as well as appropriate on the job training (OJT).
• Conducts accident investigations and completes reports as required. Assists Safety Director with the identification of root causes for such events to develop and provide the required training to help prevent future occurrences.
• Holds specialty training, as required, and needed.

Qualifications:

• 5 + years’ of construction field safety experience.
• College degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Computer skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite.
• Certifications Required:
  • CHST (or equivalent construction safety certification by exam).
  • OSHA Construction Outreach Trainer.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPPER/8-hour refresher certified.
  • First Aid/CPR certified.
  • Flagger Instructor (NSC or ATSSA).
  • NYCFD COF-F60 Fire Guard for Torch Operation.
  • 62-hour SST Supervisor.
  • RCRA Hazardous Waste Management
  • 2-Hr Silica Hazard Awareness.
  • DOT Hazardous Waste Material
  • NYC DOB 32-HR Supported scaffold user

Compensation:

• Base salary in the 100k – 130k/year range
