About the Job
North American Renewables, Inc., is seeking a General Site Superintendent to join our growing Solar EPC team!
The General Superintendent will lead and oversee the Site Superintendents to ensure the highest level of safety, quality, and compliance on every project.The General Superintendent will develop, enforce, and maintain processes to increase job site safety, ensure quality compliance, reduce costs, and increase project velocity. This position is critical to North American Renewables (NAR) goals pertaining to site safety, quality control, and staff training and development. The General Superintendent will have extensive electrical, structural, and civil construction experience along with direct experience in the construction of photovoltaic systems.
- Provide onsite leadership during routine site visits
- Review Project Status
- Preview the steps in the construction process
- Train on relevant activities
- Assist in conflict resolution
- Provide high level direction as needed
- Provide leadership and accountability for safety throughout the project, including initial site visits, design activities, construction, commissioning, and demobilization.
- Coordinate safety standards and training for the Field Operations group.
- Coordinate safety inspections and audits.
- Perform investigations of safety incidents and near-misses. Issue recommendations for corrections and ensure future compliance.
- Develop, train, and manage the site superintendent team.
- Provide feedback, support, and guidance to site superintendents to improve efficiency, morale and better work environment.
- Coordinate and approve expense reports for the site superintendents.
- Conduct regularly scheduled meetings to review general work progress, accomplishments, and areas for improvement.
- Audit active jobs in construction for compliance with NAR Standards, Safety, and Quality requirements.
- Support improvements in cost and schedule by serving as an effective bridge between field and office teams.
- Identify and provide appropriate training for new and existing staff.
- Substantiates Prime and Subcontract Change Orders by verifying assumptions for work-hour estimates, material, and equipment.
- Support Project Managers with constructability reviews, preliminary site safety and logistics.
- Review contract scope, drawings, schedules, subcontracts, and other project documents as needed.
- Provide comments and feedback in formal and informal reviews and attend all kick-off meetings.
- Coordinate with VP of Construction and Project Managers regarding site superintendent resource allocation.
- Develop, manage, and improve processes for Safety, Quality and cost reductions.
- Support and lead improvements to assist NAR Management.
- Other duties as assigned.
