Summary:
This position provides technical expertise in Network and Voice related functions such as network design, engineering, implementation, integration, and end user support. Provides solutions and support for all Telecommunications equipment and applications including VOIP, PBX, voice mail, paging, modems, and wireless technology, etc. Provides recommendations for telecommunications solutions for end user business needs and resolutions for complex problems. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
• Works on complex projects and problems.
• Analyzes network problems and needs (e.g. interference, intelligibility, clarity etc.).
• Provides technical assistance to technicians engaged in the design, construction, installation, maintenance and repair of electronic and telecommunications equipment.
• Ensures network monitoring and tuning for the Telecommunications network is carried out on a regular basis. Works assigned action items, to include monitoring and reporting progress in status reports. Utilizes industry standard installation practices to insure highly reliable voice services.
• Maintains regular contact with users regarding status of open or pending service calls as directed.
• Provides input and recommendations to staff and management when potential problem areas are identified, or policies or procedures require modification or new ones are needed. Develop and set up test plans. Recommends and follows proper escalation procedures to minimize any outages that may occur.
• Plan, design, and implement internal telecommunication networks/systems, including voice, data, and/or video communication systems.
• Maintain the highest levels of networking security and protection from disaster.
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Job Qualifications:
• Associates degree and 5 years experience or High School Diploma and 7 years experience with the configuration, design, installation and maintenance of telecommunications services.
• Working knowledge of telephony, including VoIP, service design and support.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems.
• Experience with Cisco Unified Communications solutions.
• Experience with IT process automation.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.
