Job Description
Peterson Cat has a need for an experienced Field Lube Technician based at our Eugene, OR location.
SUMMARY
Performs preventative maintenance to machines and components in the field used in heavy equipment industry customers. Performs light mechanical repairs and/or diagnostic work on heavy equipment as needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Maintain a safe working environment and observe all safety procedures, laws, policies, and rules.
Communicate with internal and external customers in a manner that promotes a positive relationship.
Troubleshoot and perform repairs on heavy equipment and components in the field.
Perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment including changing oil and filters, service greasing, and light mechanical work.
Perform lubrication services including checking and filling fluid levels to O.E.M. specifications and refueling as requested and supplied by customer.
Follow manufacturer and company service guidelines and procedures.
Inspect equipment for external signs of potential component failure.
Maintain service readiness of field lube truck including customer service fluid supplies
Operate overhead cranes, hoists, power tools and other shop equipment in a safe manner.
Complete service reports, lube reports, timecards, and other related paperwork for all worked performed.
Provide required tools as designated by company tool list.
Maintain an acceptable driving record, adhering to all DOT requirements including keeping accurate logbooks, service hours and other records as required.
Attend all training classes and profit center meetings as scheduled.
Keep service truck clean and in good repair including inside of cab and back of truck.
Keep service truck stocked with common parts needed to complete services.
Complete DOT and mileage reports.
Operate company or personal vehicle as needed
Maintain punctual, regular and predictable attendance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Associates Degree from a fully accredited college or technical/vocational school in Diesel Technology or other closely related field; and a minimum of 3 years of directly related experience in preventative maintenance and service repair of heavy equipment, preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Class B Commercial Driver’s License, valid DOT medical card, maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
