About the Job
- 6 months contract to hire position.
- Looking for an entry level Field Help Desk Technician.
Duties
- Provide first-line technical support to end-users (both in-person and remotely) regarding hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues, including system crashes, software defects, and network connectivity problems.
- Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems and software applications.
- Perform hardware maintenance and repairs on desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
- Assist users in setting up new equipment and software, including providing training and guidance.
- Maintain accurate records of IT issues, resolution steps, and user interactions using help desk software or ticketing systems.
- Implement and enforce security measures to protect systems and data from unauthorized access and vulnerabilities.
- Monitor systems proactively to identify and resolve potential issues before they impact users.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as industry regulations related to IT security and data privacy.
- Collaborate with other IT team members and departments to assist in projects and initiatives as needed.
Requirements
- Good with traveling 75% of the time to client's locations (gas reimbursement)
- 2+ years of help desk or service desk experience.
- Has professional IT Certifications CompTIA Net+, etc.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to hardware, software, and network systems. Knowledge of IT security best practices and protocols.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with end-users and documenting support activities.
