Field Geologist/Environmental Scientist - The LiRo Group

We currently have a need for a Field Geologist/Environmental Scientist for projects in the Metropolitan area.  Our office is located in the Greenpoint-Williamsburg area of Brooklyn, NY.

• Perform soil sampling, groundwater, air, drilling oversight soil borings and monitoring well installation, monitoring well sampling, underground storage tank UST end point soil sampling, air monitoring, and remediation system sampling
• Soil description (Unified USCS and standard description by fraction percentage) for boring logs
• Subcontractor oversight for all typed of work including vac truck services such as enhanced fluid recovery EFR, manhole well repair, bio-injections, excavation, and construction environmental related activities
• Data collection and timely submission for filing
• ASTM Phase I assessments

• BS degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or Engineering
• 2-4 years related experience
• HAZWOPER training and a 10-hour OSHA Certification preferred and soil erosion SWPP training a plus.
• Mechanical aptitude to get monitoring wells opened up and take water level measurements with an oil/water probe
• Ability to read site plans and drawings to locate wells
• Familiarity with equipment such as photo-ionization detector (PID) for organic volatile detection, Horiba water quality instrument, oil/water probe is needed to perform successfully.
• Highly motivated self-starter with strong analytical and writing skills.
• Must have a reliable vehicle to get to the sites and be able to carry light equipment for sampling
• Strong communication skills

- We offer a  comprehensive benefits package and a positive work environment.  The range provided is the salary that the Firm, in good faith, believes at the time of this posting is willing to pay for the advertised position.  Exact compensation will be determined based on individual candidate qualifications and location.  

- Compensation: Min: $56,000 Max: $70,000
