Are you passionate about carpentry and framing? Doug Speedling Builders Inc. is looking for a Field Frame Carpenter to work on residential and commercial construction projects. As a Field Frame Carpenter, you will be responsible for cutting, fabricating, and installing wooden structures according to specifications. Your role is critical in producing steady and functional infrastructure for our projects. You'll work in diverse settings, performing tasks that require excellent hand dexterity and the ability to work with minimal supervision while following safety protocols. The position calls for a strong understanding of wood properties, carpentry materials, and the ability to contribute to the construction and maintenance of high-quality buildings.

- Framing & Construction: Assist in framing tasks for both residential and commercial projects, ensuring all work aligns with company standards.
- Precision Work: Perform wall layouts, build components, and ensure accurate and square alignment of structures for a quality job.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and construction drawings to fully grasp project requirements.
- Material Handling: Measure, cut, shape, lumber to precise dimensions, ensuring proper material usage.
- Construction Support: Build window frames, doors, staircases, and frame buildings using raw or pre-constructed materials.
- Site Maintenance & Safety: Maintain a clean and organized job site, follow safety protocols, and assist in additional construction tasks as needed.
- Communication: Report to the Lead-Person and Assistant Lead-Person, keeping clear and consistent communication on job priorities and progress.
- 2 to 4 years of carpentry or framing experience (carpentry schooling preferred but not mandatory).
- Proficient in basic stick and panel frame construction, understanding wall layouts, some trim experience is helpful, any stair building is helpful.
- Hands-on experience with electrical and manual tools such as powered saws, hammers, and tape measures.
- Strong understanding of carpentry techniques, materials, and installation methods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds occasionally unassisted.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and tool maintenance.
- Valid driver's license and good transportation.
- High school diploma and 18+ years of age.
- Good physical condition, endurance, and willingness to work in diverse environments (construction sites, varying weather conditions).
- Environment: Construction site-based, exposure to dust, noise, and weather elements.
