JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION SUMMARY
Perform inspections and tests of electrical equipment to determine compliance with applicable codes and standards. Position may be mentally demanding, requiring concentration in multiple projects and activities simultaneously.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform various engineering tasks such as equipment labeling inspections, equipment testing, and writing inspection reports that assist in product installation approval by the electrical inspection jurisdiction having authority.
o Determine applicable standards for unique or specially built equipment.
o Perform equipment-labeling projects consistent with recognized industry and international standards, local jurisdiction requirements and Company procedures.
o May perform all aspects of testing and maintenance of electrical power distribution systems.
o Actively participate in professional organizations, such as IAEI.

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and various industry standards.
Good theoretical understanding of electrical power systems.
Able to write detailed reports with few changes.
Good research and analytical skills.
Communicate effectively, writing and verbally, with clients, peers, management and manufacturer's personnel.
Basic computer skills including editing, formatting and using templates in Microsoft Word, use of Internet for standards/products/manufacturer research.
Good judgment, dependable, responsible for large projects, and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining positive relationships with clients and local jurisdiction.
Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays and night work. Must be available for out-of-town and international travel of up to several weeks.
Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, talk and hear. Frequently required to sit, and work at computer. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, basic color differentiation and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to lift and/or move test equipment weighing 100 pounds.
Valid Driver's License.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
Graduate of Electrical Technical School or Military Equivalent and three years minimum, same or similar work experience; OR
Graduate Engineer BSEE, BSME or other four-year Technical Degree and no experience.
