Field Engineer - RS&H

We are seeking a Project Engineer for our Transportation-Construction Management practice in the Dallas, TX area.

Essential Functions:

• Act as Owner’s Representative for inspection and contract administration during the construction of large-scale projects
• Direct a highly complex and specialized construction engineering administration and inspection program
• Verify that construction is performed in substantial compliance with the contract documents and manage the consultant contract
• Draft all owners-side project correspondence, review claims, change orders, request for time extensions
• Participate in the marketing and development of new contract opportunities and pursuits
• Maintain professional registration and licensure by ensuring conformance with professional, ethical, educational, and discipline practice requirements
• Remain knowledgeable of state and local building codes, zoning laws, fire regulations, and other ordinances

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 7 years relevant experience
• PE required
• Prior experience in construction of major road or bridge
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Effectively interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, and other key stakeholders
• Independent judgment in evaluation, selection and adaptation/modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria
• Independently solve problems and make decisions
• Able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time (up to 8 hours)
• Occasionally required to sit and stoop
• Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job
• Subject to environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside
• Able to safely operate a vehicle on the highway and on construction sites
