Field Compliance Specialist RN

What You Must Have:
- Current State Registered Nurse License
- Current Drivers License, reliable transportation, and provide ongoing valid and current auto liability insurance.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in clinical setting, preferably with Hospice, Quality/QAPI experience, and two (2)years medical-surgical experience, management experience preferred
- Certified in Hospice and Palliative Care preferred
- Ability to train, teach and manage staff members in the use of Home Care Home Base (HCHB), Allscripts, databases, Imaging software, E-Solutions, Maven, Nuance and etc.
- Requires clinical knowledge, critical and analytical thinking skills to conduct compliance audits and draft reports.
- Good working knowledge of Local Coverage Determinants for Hospice (multiple states)
- Good working knowledge of the Medicare Conditions of Participation (CoPs)
- Good working knowledge of the Community Health Accreditation Partners (CHAP)
- Ability to travel 30-50% of the time

What You Will Do
- Audits hospice medical records and internal admin processes to monitor regulatory compliance and to ensure adherence toestablished processes and workflows. Identifies areas of potential risk through audit processes. Present and discuss auditfindings through formal exit process. Review, approve and monitor Plan of correction.
- May identify training opportunities based on audits. May present such educational information to prevent repeatedcompliance risks at the direction of the compliance leadership team. May provide compliance/documentation educationsessions to Area and Regional Teams in addition to Area Clinical Managers, Executive Directors, Case Managers and otherstaff.
- Provide orientation to new team members.
- May have supervisory responsibilities to new team members.
- Assists the organization's compliance leadership, as directed, to research and investigate complaints, concerns or questions relative to compliance issues. Investigates and follows up on reported issues as directed.
- Maintains awareness of laws and regulations and conducts research as needed to identify applicable laws, regulations and practices to maintain compliance.
- Reviews related policies and procedures and literature.
- Communicates applicable eligibility and/or quality of care compliance issues to the Site, Area and Regional teams and Chief Clinical Director and Compliance Department.
- Assumes additional responsibilities to assist and support the organization's compliance program often dealing with complex and unique situations and problems.
- Responds to denials and requests for additional data requests (ADRs) in an accurate and timely manner.
- Completes assigned annual training, and other duties as assigned.
